With growing globalisation, we as a society of this globe are coming closer and are capable of more
affirmative multi-national actions. We are achieving this through various initiatives, too numerous
to mention, by national and international Non-Governmental Organizations, and individual efforts.
These attempts are however fragmented and not organized in a structured way, and thereby knowledge
gathered and created is inaccessible to the larger community. Hence, knowledge learnt is just as well
lost!
Motivated by the above, through River Research Webshelf (RRW),
we have taken the initiative to create a focal point for documenting,
storing and sharing (free of cost) all the knowledge people working on Development
and Disaster Management all around the world, have learnt through the various projects
they have been or are currently involved with.
Such joint effort, aims at:
- Creating information symmetry and coordination;
- Increasing the success rate of projects;
- Discussing and posing questions on specific theme addressing a relevant audience;
- Creating larger awareness.
